eric & danalise | expecting

Eric & Danalise are expecting their first baby (a little girl!) in a few short days - so what better way to celebrate than with a photo session!  I am so excited for these two as they anticipate this new beginning in their lives.  As you will see, this couple is just so adorable together!  And Danalise - well, she is an absolutely radiant mama-to-be!  I so enjoyed my time with them at their family farm - and despite the cold temps we endured, Eric & Danalise were awesome to work with :)

My biggest congratulations to Eric & Danalise!  Thank you for letting me document this special time in your lives.  I can't wait to meet your tiny precious babe when she arrives!

Danalise - you are gorgeous...

Danalise's idea :)

a big {BIG} thank you, and ...

First off, welcome to my re-designed blog! I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to your feedback. One of the major changes includes the slideshow of images at the top, which will highlight various sessions of mine and this will be ever-changing... If you're new to visiting the blog, and you are not sure who I am - please check out my 'about me' page :) And if you want to reach out to me, please don't hesitate to e-mail me (under the contact page)!

Secondly - (and the most important reason for this post) is that I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you!

Whether I have photographed your family... or captured your engagement or wedding day... or documented you as a high school senior... I want you to know that I sincerely cherish ALL of you. If it weren't for each and every one of you, I wouldn't be able to do what I LOVE to do. Photography means more to me than you will ever know (I can't imagine my life without it!) - and your support has meant the WORLD to me. So, sincerely, I want to thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart...

Also, I want to give a big THANK YOU to those that take the time out of their busy day to simply visit my blog and view my work and most recent sessions! Since starting my blog, I have had thousands of visits and it truly means so much to me to be able to share my work with all of you. I feel I grow with each and every picture I take and with every new session that I do... And I have SO APPRECIATED all of your comments, feedback and encouragement (whether it be on facebook, or my blog, or in person) - THANK YOU!

I guess the best word to describe how I feel is BLESSED. Although photography has been a love of mine since I can remember - it is not until recently that I found PHOTOGRAPHY is my PASSION. After losing my Dad to cancer after a long and valiant fight, I was left empty... I would have never thought that picking up my camera again would be able to re-new my spirit, but it has... And for that (and for all of you), I feel BLESSED...

Looking ahead, I could not be any more ecstatic or grateful for what's to come this year! Whether I will be shooting your wedding day, or capturing another special time in your life, I look forward to working with you! I am SO excited to take all that I have learned in the past year and apply it to the new year! I also look forward to attending more photography workshops and seminars so that I can continue to learn and grow...

Lastly, I have added a picture (below) to make this blog post complete... Before my Dad passed away, he was teaching me how to fly model airplanes and helicopters (it was something that he loved to do, and it was just one of the many things he was AMAZING at)... But in hindsight, I know that my Dad was teaching me more than just how to fly... He was teaching me that the sky is the limit… {Love you, Daddio}

Yours truly, Rachel
